#139 Book Review & Face the Scale

Today I decided to combine to blog posts if that is okay. Below is the first one:

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini:
Yes, of course I have read another book. This one however is a lot different then what I have been reading, but just as good or even better than any other book I have ever read. The Kite Runner has been sitting on my bookshelf waiting to be picked up and read. I bought this book when I returned from my Semester at Sea trip around the world in the Sprint 2007. On that trip, I had the opportunity to visit India, which changed me in ways I don't think I still fully understand. So, just by reading the synopsis of this book, I new I would be changed even more. So I waited and waited and waited. So a few days ago, I decided to finally read this book. Boy, I am sure I glad I did. I know I will forever be changed by what I have just read. Hosseini had a way of writing so vividly it was like I was actually living through what Amir had been through. With every page, I couldn't help but get that choked up feeling in my throughout. There were some instances where i laughed out loud, but for the most part, I couldn't help but want to shed tears for what Amir's story was. It made me realize how lucky and blessed I have been to be born where I was born. Parts of this story was very hard to read; I don't mean the writing. What I am talking about is what the people, adults and children, have lived through and continue to live through. I am sure my brain will still process what I have just read for the next couple of weeks. However, this story will forever be ingrained in my head. I don't think I will ever forget it. This is a story, I believe, needed to told, and it is a story that needs to be read.

I loved this book as you can tell; I haven't decided what I will read next but I will let you know as soon as I find out. It will be a light read

Face the Scale:
Today is weigh in day which means my nerves are shot. Yet again, I am nervous to Face the Scale. Because of the gain last week, I have  been motivated. I earned activity points 4 days this week and I have tracked everything while eating less. So I am keeping my fingers crossed for tonight.
