#123 The Hump Day Blog Post

I just realized that I haven't posted The Hump Day Blog is quite a while. Just as a warning to my readers this post may be a tad random.

Food for thought: If you know me, then you already know that is basically how my brain works. I have been told by various people that I am a very random person, but to me there is some sort of logic in it. My brain always seems to have random comments or bursts of information. Just imagine how random I would be of I actually said all the things I really think about. You just don't want to know. LOL

Today this post will definitely be random cause I will be talking about different things that probably don't go together.

Drew Brees: First off, I am so happy that he got his contract and that he is our franchise quarterback. He and his family give back to the city in many ways, and he has brought some great memories to New Orleans and the Saints. Secondly, I may get some negative comments my way, but I don't really care. I truly think signing a $100 million dollar contract is sort stupid and ridiculous. I don't have anything against him personally. I just think/feel that our society is sort of backwards. We reward athletes, actors, and musicians handsomely and they are just forms of entertainment, while those people who deserve more money don't. I am talking about police officers, firefighters, and teachers, just to name a few. These people are those that effect our lives and the lives of the next generations. We have the "entertainers" of the world living the high life with a lifestyle they chose, while the people that do the hard jobs (lack of a better word) some of which who barely get by. That is just messed up.

Healthy Food Vs. Junk Food: Everyone knows that I have spent a good part of the past 2 years trying to shed some major weight and get healthier. It seems like a lot of people around this country want the US to be healthier, which is great. However, the big dogs need to realize that if they want us (the people that live in the real world) to eat healthier, they need to make healthier food less expensive. For me, my money is tight and I am sure I am not the only one in this economy. Junk food is a lot cheaper than salads and the healthier options, and most of the time, it tastes better too.

My Lifestyle Change: Yesterday was the first day I set aside some time for myself and earned some activity points. I realize I didn't do it for long, but I feel it is better than nothing. I did 30 minutes in the pool, some of it was actually swimming laps (most off the time) and I did some water aerobics. I earned myself 4 Activity points. I hope it helps. I have eaten more this week but still have tracked everything I have put in my mouth.

In closing, mainly because I am running out of things to say. I hope everyone has a blessed day.
